Residential RN

The Residential RN oversees the medical needs of all the Individuals. This includes, being an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, advocating on behalf of the Individual, communicating with families and outside healthcare professionals, as well as maintaining records in accordance with governing agencies.

The Residential RN sets up all medical appointments, insures doctor’s orders and recommendations are carried out, including medication administration, and provides ongoing training and support to Direct Support Staff.

The Residential RN is available to staff 24 hours a day / 7 days a week to answer questions and provide telephone triage instructions.

Adult Day Services Nurses (ADS)

Block Institute’s ADS RN oversees the LPNs within our Day Programs.

The ADS nurses provide medical oversight to the Individuals, is part of the interdisciplinary team, communicates with families, the Individual’s residence, and healthcare providers as a liaison to provide continuity of care, as well as maintain records in accordance with governing agencies.

On a daily basis, the nurses will administer medication, provide first aid and emergency interventions as warranted.

Education Nurses

The Education Coordinator oversees the LPNs within our Education Programs. We serve physical and medically involved students, including, but not limited to those with neurogenic bladders, diabetes and seizures.

The Education nurses care for the student’s daily needs, from medication administration, to providing first aid and emergency interventions as warranted.

The Education nurses are an integral part of the student’s interdisciplinary team. They communicate with parents / guardians and healthcare professionals as well as maintain records in accordance with governing agencies.

All of Block Institute nurses are experienced in their field, are CPR certified and are mandated reporters.
